Volunteers Needed!

We are seeking volunteers in Jersey City/Northern New Jersey to fill the following roles in our regional chapter:

Development Director  (6-8 hour commitment per week)

• Represents and spreads organization awareness on the local level to build a diverse and unified community
• Attends local community organizations’ (civic, religious, nonprofits,etc) events and programming
• Builds grassroots community partnerships and local individual membership efforts
• Meets with or engages at least 2 new local partners per week
• Supports transnational partnerships by engaging with local chapters with national ties
• Required Meetings:
• Participate in organization wide meetings once a month  (3 hours per month)
• Participate in bi-weekly meetings with CDO and other development directors (2 hours per month)
• Participate in bi-weekly meetings with your regional team (2-4 hours per month)

Finances Director (6-8 hour commitment per week)

• Represents and spreads organization awareness on the local level to build a diverse and unified community
• Oversees and facilitates financial trainings such as mini MBA and entrepreneurship programming
• Builds partnerships with local businesses
• Develops regional team budget and leads/oversees local fundraising efforts
• Required Meetings:
• Participate in organization wide meetings once a month  (3 hours per month)
• Participate in bi-weekly meetings with CFO and other finance directors (2 hours per month)
• Participate in bi-weekly meetings with your regional team (2-4 hours per month)

Programming Director (6-8 hour commitment per week)

• Represents and spreads organization awareness on the local level to build a diverse and unified community
• Oversees and facilitates self-defense and community organizing trainings such as MM, LDF, etc
• Builds partnerships with local schools, student organizations, and other training programs
• Conducts and oversees evaluation of all programming during training sessions (via participants) and on a quarterly basis (via self, local team, and CLO)
• Required Meetings:
• Participate in organization wide meetings once a month  (3 hours per month)
• Participate in bi-weekly meetings with CLO and other programming directors (2 hours per month)
• Participate in bi-weekly meetings with your regional team (2-4 hours per month)

These are not paid positions, but you will learn a lot, gain professional mentorship and experience, and have the opportunity to organize and make a difference in our community! The only requirements are that you have the time and energy to dedicate to our effort, and an open mind to learning and growing into your role--YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A PROFESSIONAL IN ANY OF THE AREAS!
